Windows 7 - New Virus found

Have been busy, even in a small rural kansas community, 3 towns avg 2500 population in county. Several called and complained, I can browse but can not USE EMAIL & My AV is not working,.

After several methods failed, i found a NEW DOWNLOAD program.
"Windows 7 Keygen + Activation" . Tried to remove the program from user\downloads and was refused. Trying Task manager, and found form 3 to 5 different Viris.exe programs running, all different sizes.

Stopped all process then was able to delete the main program...
Rebooted all systems, and ea AV program started, and was able to run a FULL SCAN.
(this program was also not detected by WinDefender.) So beware.
This program is placed in C:\windows\system

You shouldn't have downloaded a file like that anyways

I did not. but many folks do not know. and they also dl that crazy FREE AV Scanner that later kills there AV, and demand $60 to $80 to get your system released.
Guess that is why I'm still a Computer tech - repair - service person.

PS: Don't need the bogus stuff.

You likely have the choice of a clean install or trying to run a virus scanner from DOS. I doubt you will be able to clean this from within Windows 7
