Windows 7: Windows Firewall ( Managed By Vendor Application McAfee Personal FW)

Windows Firewall ( Managed By Vendor Application McAfee Personal FW)

Recently i bought a new laptop Windows 7 professional 64 bit and it came pre-installed with McAfee Internet Security Suite. I seem to be experiencing problems with my firewall settings as i access the windows firewall windows.Please see link below for my window firewall snapshot

I see a notification that these settings are being managed by vendor application McAfee Personal firewall.
The Domain Networks - Show they are not connected
Home or Work (private) networks - Connected
Public Networks - Not connected.



Shouldn't the above state connected in a green notification.

I cant select any of the options on the windows left pane also.

Hi Thabs,

I found this thread in the McAfee support community which addresses your issue - it seems the McAfee firewall interacts differently with Windows Firewall on Windows 7 only:

Also, please see if running McAfee's update function changes/solves the problem (preinstalled antivirus software is usually out of date with the definitions and engine patches).
