Pros and Cos (Norton vs Kaspersky ) ?

KIS 2012 system requirements are an 800Mhz processor and 256 megs of RAM. Basically, the best requirements I've seen so far.

As for slowdowns, that generally only happens when you do a full scan. That does take some time and hard drive resource since hard drives are obviously slow. But the quick critical scan is like, nothing is going on. I have it set to do a critical scan after every update and that happens like threeish times a day.

For internet, I have the web scanner at it's default scan setting of medium. I see like, maybe a second at the most of slowness. But then again, that's usually when the hard drive is fragmented and KIS' program files are fragmented.

So you guys would say kaspersky is better thatn norton in terms of protection and removal?
because I just installed norton internet security 2012.

Norton 2012 ! isnt it still in Beta ?

You said you have a problem (spam) Didnt Norton find any thing ?

I've used both over the years and I don't really think there is that much difference between them as far as protection goes.

I am currently running Norton because of trouble with KIS 2010. The strange problem prevented a system restore - something to do with a specific file (can't remember which one...tempus fugit etc.). Changing to Norton cured the problem. I subsequently found that several other people had found the same trouble with KIS through helping on other forums.

Norton used to be a real resource hog a few years back but is now both light and fast.

As Maguscreed says....it all boils down to personal preference. "You pays your money and takes your pick."
