| | Turn off MSE Is there a way I can turn off MsMpEng.exe off for system startup. Its annoying how it eats up all my cpu and ram all the time, and would rather just have it open when I need it. But I don't see a startup entry for it. |

| | It sounds like it is scanning at startup. Read this page, and the previous page he referred to may take care of this for you. | | Yeah, sounds like it's configured to do a startup scan. I run MSE and never notice it doing anything on system startup. |
