You must have installed a.v. for realtime protection,with windows firewall enable,unless you have internet security suite with a.v. and firewall combo.

And for extra scans,

Use SUPERAntiSpyware.com - Downloading File

And Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a free download that removes viruses and malware from your computer

Scans? Run scans every few days.

There is no "how often" scan every and each time you believe something is wrong.

Remember always to have all your security updated.

I have the resident version, and run a quick scan at every boot-up via a schedule.

I prefer running a full scan with Malwarebytes and MSE once at month.

I generally scan on fridays. On my system with the SSD, the scans are very quick, and don't slow down my normal usage. A Guy

Sunday is scan day for me. Mse automatic scan at 12 then I used task scheduler to automate a Malwarebytes (fee version) scan just after.

I run a full scan of all drives every week with Malwarebytes, usually when there is a football match on the TV. It is usually finished when the match is. Who says only women can multitask.

Being of a conscientious nature daily scans are run here with Malwarebytes {Pro version.}

Full scan takes 19 >22 minutes.
Quick scan 1 > 2 minutes.

How often should I setup MBAM PRO to scan and how often should I change my antivirus to scan? I scan using my antivirus every day since I am delusional that I might get a infection. Side note: I finally will get to start using the software that I reccomend but don't use. Yippee!!
