Please tell me, step-by-step, how you are trying to get to the WinAmp folder, irrespective of the question, as to why.

I'm not trying to access the folder manually. It's just that when I open up programs like firefox and winamp, they cannot access my user settings such as bookmarks/skins/etc.

Do you have an idea as how your system got into the state it is presently in?

There are many long and arduous routes which we can travel.

However, I suspect that you have an idea as to how this problem appeared.

That knowledge will make the job of correcting the action much easier.

Oh yes, one other thing I must rule out. Any children or mischievous friends around with access to your computer.

You did have, and I hope you corrected that, an admin account with no passward which is very unwise.

The original objective was to transfer my computer to another family member. Before learning about the sharing folder feature, I thought the only thing I could do was deny access from other accounts to my user folder. However, I accidentally denied access to a user group that included my original account as well. I tried taking ownership of the folder, and reapplying access to everyone. Files such as music, videos, pictures etc are accessible now. But as mentioned before, files in the AppData folder cannot be accessed such as bookmarks, skins, etc. I tried manually taking ownership of just the AppData folder, but there are some file paths (that I'm unaware of) that I don't know about.

The Test account was only created recently, and I'm the only one that uses the computer anyway.
