    No access to user folder

    Hello everyone,

So I'm having the exact same issue as this guy [Locked out of a user folder except I don't have a restore point that goes before part where I screwed up, so is there any other way to fix this issue?

An example of the issue that I have is, whenever I open up Firefox I get this message "Could not initialise the application's security component. ..."

I tried taking ownership of the folder but the AppData folder gets constantly denied.

    Thanks

    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Have you tried this method to take ownership?

    Right-click folder and choose Properties.

Click the Security tab then click Advanced.

    Click Owner followed by Edit.

    Set ownership to yourself.

Check "Replace owner on sub-containers and objects".

    Click OK.

    thentitled,

What user are you trying to access?
What is the name of your useraccount?

    WIN + R | type CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2| ENTER

    WIN
is the key with the Microsoft wavy flag on top.

You will see a list of users and groups (maybe).

Fill out those system specs for us.

    UPDATE YOUR SEVENFORUMS SYSTEM SPECS

User CP (3rd item in the top menu bar) |
in left-hand column, under Your Profile, Edit System Spec |

Use Speccy - System Information - Free Download
and/or SIW to gather info for filling in the blanks.
You can also use the System Spec tool from this fine tutorial:
Use System Info to see your System Specs

Do me a favor. Please add the word laptop or desktop to the “system manufacturer” block.

Provide full windows version info, such as provided by Speccy:
    MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader, Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor

Scroll down and click on the SAVE CHANGES button.

How many admin accounts on your computer?

How many standard user accounts on your computer?

And the names of the accounts.

    @karlsnooks

There are two admin accounts: Nelson and Test

    There are no standard accounts.

you should be able to log on under t he Test account.

The Test account is shown as an administrator account.

The Test account desperately needs a PASSWORD.

Having an admin account without a password is a true invitation to some people and also to malware.

After assigning a password to the Test account. then

Can you access the Nelson account folders?
