AVG Updates gags applications

A dodgy AVG update over the weekend left users with crippled iTunes installations.
The faulty signature update meant iTunes.dll and iTunesRegistry.dll library files were falsely labelled as infected with the Small-BOG virus, and consigned into quarantine. As a result, AVG both prevented iTunes from working and the re-installation of Apple's software.

I feel sorry for anyone still using AVG after the amount of "faulty signatures" they have had screwing up peoples machines over the last two years

At my shop, we included AVG in all new machines and almost all re-format re-installs. Until 8.x

Although, I paid AVG to do the iTunes fubar.

The worst of all - the informed.

Not all information is useful, valid or applicable. Like 'disable paging of kernel' et al.

Windows 7 updates same for updates every time it checks for updates
For the past day windows wants to install the same 4 updates over and over, I have windows update set to download and let me choose when to install. I can't understand why I even need them, as I uninstalled net framework. Notice how the update at 8:17 AM., KB2656368, is the same as one of...

Win7 Ulti Gags on cut/paste of tiny html file?? WHY?
this is one of those things that makes me pine for XPP .... I do not know what folder or group to post this in so if the Mod knows and can move there, so be it. My Ultimate x64 rig - clean and fast for the most part: All I needed to do was cut a very small 153kb *.htm file and paste it to a...

MSE updates flagged in Win 7 updates but not XP Mode updates
I find it odd that when I do a Windows Update in Windows 7, the Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) updates are also found. But if I do a Windows Update in XP Mode, the MSE updates are not found. I don't suppose this is controllable? I'd like the Windows Update to find MSE updates.

Pinning applications to other applications?
I like the new taskbar, but I find it getting a little cluttered with all of the applications I use on a regular basis (thus warranting pinning them to the taskbar). Being kind of OCD, this bugs me as when I open programs that aren't pinned to the toolbar for a little bit (games, the various...
