spoolsv.exe trying to access internet

Hello All
Could someone tell me why "spoolsv.exe"
would need to access the internet.
This is the information AVG is giving me:
Application: Spooler SubSystem
Full Path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SPOOLSV.EXE
Company: Microsoft Corporation
Local Address: Local computer : 49155
Remote address: 10.0.0.65 : 58902
Connection: TCP
Direction: Incoming
Process ID: 1228

Any help will be appreciated

That process is from fax/printer.

I don't use the Fax.
I also noticed that the AVG message states
that it's "incoming". How could that be if I
didn't send any thing out ?

The process is not accessing the internet. It is accessing a local network resource. 10.x.x.x is a private IP address that is not route-able on the internet. Its probbably a network printer.

Hi, RalphG.

I posted some links to articles in your topic at TCW. Personally, unless you have an extensive network, I think you may be over-analyzing things. Have some trust in your firewall, modem and other security software.

You're welcome.

As I indicated in your topic at the other site, it is most important that you have a firewall/router, up-to-date antivirus software and security updates installed. In addition, make sure third party software is current.

To ensure your system is up-to-date, I suggest either Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) (installed as a stand alone application) or the Secunia Online Software Inspector (OSI). Golden published a nice tutorial on the Secunia ONLINE Software Inspector that you may find helpful if you've never used it before.

I'm getting BSOD's almost once a day. It's my work computer, so I run the same apps everyday, but I haven't noticed any kind of trend that would lead me to believe a specific app was causing it. From the little bit I've gathered and read, it seems to be a memory issue though. Can anyone confirm...

High CPU usage from spoolsv.exe and Systems Idle Process?
Lately, I've been getting alerts about high cpu usage. Checking Process Explorer, I see that spoolsv.exe is using about 49-50% and Systems Idle is using 45-50. I have no idea why this is happening. Only recent change has been the swapping out of a HP Photosmart printer for a Lexmark Pro 915...
