Disable "ESC" During Win7 boot "Only"

    Hi,

Can anyone provide me a way to remap the esc key to any key combination
i'd choose, during the booting process only.

Once i reached the desktop after the booting process, this tweak shouldn't
be active & escape would still act as esc .. .

This would allow me to erase sensitive data under autoexec.nt
without any way to escape the process & only i would know
which key combination interrupts the erasing process during
    a restart or starting windows.

delicate, I suspect you have gotten no replies because no one who has read your post has the answer. I am unaware of any way to remap a key only for the boot sequence. A Guy

Seeing as the boot process is partly handled by the hardware/BIOS and simple operations of the OS just starting up its routines before any of the core services are active. You would need a completely custom built boot process to do what you want.

Let's pretend i "understand" .. . logicearth, apart from the fact that i'm not a dev & this "You would need a completely custom built boot process to do what you want." makes no sense to me, technically speaking ))

But my intimate conviction is .. .

If someone tries to esc before windows is loading, he won't reach windows, nor a boot menu, but
the bios settings which will get him nowhere, the aim is to prevent an app erasing data to be escaped
when launched from autoexec.nt, by remapping esc during the load process of windows & f5 or f8 (i mean,
the key that sends us to the windows boot menu), in other words guys .. .

It seems to me that it's a windows & not a bios issue ...

Now let me tell you something, logicearth & a guy, if i don't get a solution in a few hours,
you'll both have a virtual death on ur consciences, i'll go build a virtual rope & hang myself in the
    network .. .

    You're warned .. .

Oh I think my virtual conscience has just broken to pieces. [/sarcasm]

You need a custom boot loader. End of story.

Hi, from the web purgatory .. .

    Like i told you, i don't know what that means .. .

Is that customizing the windows boot process or a sort of dos ?

& how can i set what you propose ?
