    The password on windows?


    Please can u tell me that where or in which file the password on users account save?
    If i forget my password can i retrive it by opening any file of the computer by attaching hard disk with another computer?

    If you forget your password you probably won't be able to open that file.
    My method is simpler. Write down your password and save it in a safe place.

    You can't view it easily.

    It is in the SAM registry hive.

    There are programs which can be used to change it - so you can log in if you forget it.

    Exactly. I really do not understand why people do not write down their passwords somewhere.

    Just write it on a sticky note and stick it to your monitor.

    Just a suggestion. It's pretty much impossible to lose it that way. Though if anyone else uses your computer, you'd be better off to keep it somewhere else.
