    Bitdefender Threat Scanner Error

Around the end of August 2017, I started getting a message every time I shut down Windows. There were a few other problems as well so I repartitioned, formatted and reinstalled Win 7 Pro 64. Within a week or so, I started getting the same message. I've searched the internet but can't find an answer. Here goes:

A problem has occured in BitDefender Threat Scanner. A file containing
error information has been created at C:\Windows\TEMP\BitDefender
Threat Scanner.dmp. You are strongly encouraged to send the file to
the developers of the application for further investigation of the error.

I have never installed nor used BitDefender on any computer I've ever owned, nor have I installed it on any computer I've ever worked on. I have no idea where this is coming from. I've run Avast Pro, Malwarebytes, Superantispyware, Spybot and Windows Defender. I've also done a bootscan with Avast. I've tried online scans with AVG, Trend Micro, ESET and Norton. I've run AdwCleaner, JRT, RKill, TDSSKiller and TFC. All with no results. I even tried the The New Bitdefender UninstallTool. Nothing has worked so far. I still get the same message and only when I shut down the machine. I've also went in and deleted the dmp file but it just recreates it the next time I shut down the system. It's more of a pain in the arse than anything but it does cause the machine to take a few extra minutes to shut down.

Today I tried to open the dmp file with File Viewer Plus. It says that it can't read the file so I went back and looked at the saved file and it has 0 bytes which explains why File Viewer Plus can't read it.
BitDefender Threat Scanner.dmp Date Modified 9/25/2017 5:51 PM Size 0KB

Have I missed something?? I've tried everything I can think of and then some. Has anyone ran across this problem before and if so, were you able to correct it?

I will remove Spybot right away as well as the BitDefender dmp file and let you know how it goes.
There is one other thing. I run the same programs on my second computer but this error has never popped up on that one. I also looked for the file in windows\temp but it isn't there. Wonder why just some computers and not others???

I also checked out the BitDefender site you pointed to but that's for BitDefender Free. As stated, I have never nor will I ever use BitDefender so it has never been installed on any PC I've owned.

First Norton is a super bad scanner because latter it comes to virus i've tryed in different computers to fix that but it's develooped on that way.And second I recommend Kaspersky because It's totally the best antivirus ever because never It won't go against you even if it's malwared so remove every set antivirus, antispyware etc (important) and only install kaspersky even free is nice i use free for myself and then run a full scan.Be ensure to clear even Temp files on windows at thos two location so clear all and let those who cannot be cleared usually 2 or 4 cannot be cleared and those are two temp locations.Support temp are temporaray files that slow down your computer so u should delete them once a week or at least one a month for faster performance even for no crushes. Those are locations C:\Users\Mcorp\AppData\Local\Temp and C:\Windows\Temp and then empty recycle bin.

First of all, let me say that i wouldn't use Kapersky if it was the last virus scanner on earth. It left me high and dry with a virus that destroyed my HDD but I do appreciate your response. I also agree about Norton. It has always been a resource hog as far as I am concerned.

Secondly, after removing Spybot S&D, the problem went away. I have been watching every shutdown and no more Bitdefender errors messages. Thank you "torchwood" for your response to my dilemma. It was spot on.
