    Ricky,

This is quite odd : you install Windows 7, then install Norton, and it detects ADH.2? Many thousands of PC users have done exactly this, and never get these issues.

Can you please answer these questions:

    1. When you installed Windows 7, did you choose to format the entire hard disk?

    2. Where exactly did you purchase your Windows 7 installation DVD from? Do you recall how much you paid for it?

    3. Where exactly did you get your Norton Rescue Disk from?

In addition, please run this tool, and then attach the results back here in your reply:

    I found this information:

Symantec’s antivirus products contain an highly sensitive detection technology designed to detect entirely new malware threats without traditional signatures. This technology is aimed at detecting malicious software that has been intentionally mutated or morphed by attackers.

If one or more files on your computer have been classified as having a Trojan.ADH.2 threat, this indicates that the files have suspicious characteristics and therefore might contain a new or unknown threat. However, given the sensitive nature of this detection technology, it may occasionally identify non-malicious, legitimate software programs that also share these behavioral characteristics.

Therefore, it is recommended that users manually check all files detected as Trojan.ADH.2 by Symantec antivirus products for potential misidentification, and submit any suspect files to Symantec Security Response for further analysis. For instructions on how to do this, read Submit Virus Samples.

Also, as Golden asked, are these disks legit? If the Windows 7 or Norton disks is not a genuine, then who knows how many unwanted files may be included on them.

I've also seen some articles concerning the fact that some viruses can survive a format and re-emerge when you reinstall, although it looks like that's a controversial subject. Some recommend a stronger HD eraser than MS offers.

I may not be an expert but ricky said norton found the virus immediately after he re-installed windows 7.What i think is ricky is re-installing windows within windows 7 and the infected files might be in windows.old folder which is what norton is picking up or maybe his MBR has somehow been infected....
