Upgrade from Windows Xp to Windows 7, Lag spikes, high Cpu Usage

Hi

Yesterday i upgraded my OS, Windows XP 32bit to Windows 7 64bit and now i get lagspikes and high cpu usage when i play games and my computer is getting really hot.
I did not clean install before the upgrade.

I think the cpu is causing the heat of the computer but it could be my new graphic card i bought. I upgraded my graphics from NVIDIA GeForce 240 to Asus GeForce 560TI.
When my computer gets warmer when i play games like Battlefield 3 i notice the cpu usage is high and i get many lag spikes and when i dont play the computer is getting back the original temperature.
I have searched about this problem everywhere but somehow their problem doesnt fit mine. If you could help me with this problem i would be glad.

If this is posted in the wrong place, i am sorry just notify where to move it to.
Thank you in advance.

My System Specs:
Ram: 4 GB
Graphics: Asus GeForce 560Ti
Proccesor: Dual Core Amd Athlon II X2 250 Proccesor 3,00 GHz
Audio: Realtek high definition audio

You can use Speccy, it will tell you the cpu mobo and hdd temps.

Run your system with as less load as possible.

I downloaded Speccy and it showed me the temps in the diffrent components.
Right now my my graphic card is 36 C and my Cpu is at 26 C
What i noticed is that the graphic card temperature is increasing.
What should the normal temperature be?

how do i run my system with a less load as possible?

Oh then that is ok. Every value under 45C is considered as cool
So, forget what i said about the amount of load things...
How much is the gpu temp increasing?

So now i have played Battlefield 3 and my CPU is 44 C and my Graphics card is 85 C
Now that i closed the game the temperature is getting lower.

That 85C is really frustrating...

What case do you have? Are you overclocking the card? Also it would be great to make sure that the fan of the gpu is spinning, only open the case if you know what you are doing.

edit: gpu temp would ideally be in between 28C and 71C

No the card was already overclocked by the company.

Could it be my PSU? maybe i have to little power for my components.

How many watt is your psu?

You can only get to know this by openning the case. Be careful, and don't touch any components if possible
You will see many numbers on the side of the psu, look for the one that is said to be the maximum output.

Upgrade GPU and CPU. CPU usage very high. GPU not perform as intended.
