Switching Security Solutions

Hi,
My current security solution is about to expire and I have been looking into other suites. I was thinking about trying out AVG Internet Security 2012. Is it any good?

Thanks.

Hi,

I would consider FREE MSE or FREE Avast before AVG. Whilst AVG is still used by many, the genral consensus is that it isn't as good as it once was.

Regards,
Golden

IMHO It IS a good product!
There ARE many happy AVG Internet Security 2012 users worldwide who confidently use this product.
The paid version has been used here for many years on numerous computers.

Have you had any problems with it over the years? Do you currently use AVG IS 2012?

AVG is terrible. I don't want to tell you my sad experience with it, but anything else is better. Make sure you properly uninstall your current AV program. Here are the uninstallers: AV Uninstallers A simple uninstall with the Windows uninstaller will not do.

Currently running AVG Version 2012.0.1873 [ Paid } on all computers here.
Have used it on XP, Vista & & now Win 7 computers.

We have NEVER had any problems with it.
That is the very reason we have been loyal paying clients.

{You will find the vocal minority will not recommend it.}

Life has been good to you. Maybe the paid version is better. But the free one brought 18 of our systems down. What a mess.

IMO before finalising about buying avg try it for some days to observe how nice it plays with your other security solutions. Give more importance to its performance like is it slowing down your browsing? or it is slowing down your booting etc. For about its malware detection capability go to site like av comparetive and virus bulletin and observe the curent performance of avg. Also before finalising any av its a good idea to go to their forum and observe its effectiveness, which would come in handy if you run into some specific problem. Observe things like is there are any thread which are unanswered for quite few time or what are the quality of the answer given.
