Firewall Issue

Hi All
Hope you are all well. First off i apologize if this is in the wrong place.
My problem stems from Zonealrm that i have installed on my PC i downloaded the latest version yesterday and since then one game simcity 3000 keeps crashing it worked perfectly well before this also need for speed underground 2 crashes a lot i have uninstalled ZA and simcity 3000 loaded up ok, My main question is can my PC work just as well without ZA and will windows firewall offer good protection ( i hope this makes sense )

If you have a router with NAT (network address translation) Windows FW will be ok.

AND how would i find out that my router has that ?

Look for the make & model, then go to the web site.
