Do it. For registering the free version, no cost is to be incurred at all. What you are to do is just to fill up a questioner .... with a few simple questions, and you are to provide your email id.

You will get a registration of one year. After that, you are to get the registration again, and that is also free.

I am using it , the free version, for more a reasonably long time. It's good .

No !
May God save you from the ugly spywares . But if you want an antispyware , you may go for it. There is one inbuilt .... Windows Defender ; but I am not really sure how efficient it is. Some security experts may throw a ray on it.

The Avast version you have will already watch for Spyware, and viruses:

If you feel you need more you can always try these:
https://malwarebytes.org/
https://www.superantispyware.com/
SpywareBlaster® | Prevent spyware and malware. Free download.

They all have free versions.
Arc, and I are always nearby if you need any more assistence

AVAST free version or more security

[QUOTE=carol w;1720216]hi everyone, i just downloaded avast version 6.0.13]
Although a lot of people use the free version of Avast l would recommend you purchase the paid version.You can have a trial to see how much extra protection it gives you or check their website and it shows you what the paid version covers.PS They have one for Android Mobiles too and that is free.
Most people will recommend you do not have more than 1 Security Suite as they will conflict and when you try and download a paid version it will tell you that you have to remove any other Security.Same applies for firewalls although l must admit l did not dis-able this so l have 2 running and no hassle with Avast but you will strike trouble with other Suites.The paid Version l think from memory is around $49 but l opted for the Recovery Disc but was told you can download that so if you wish to buy it they will charge you about $5.00 more approx. Remember it must be activated and you must have a License Key for paid Version.E-mail them for more details.Good luck

If you are using your computer at home and not for business then the free Avast is just fine for you. I have used it for over two years without any problems.

I would suggest that you install the free Comodo Firewall in addition for full protection. During the Comodo installation process you shall be asked if Geek Buddy should also be installed. You should say no to that as this add in is not free.
