Just to clarify; you have XP running in VMWare on a Windows 7 OS?
Is that correct or not?

I ran all day yesterday (01-03)/today(01-04) on our 7box, and I am 'bout ready to go to bed then later this morning I will be on the XPbox for the rest of the day (01-04)
I would like to see if I can get IE8 to settle down with the both of them (Mbam-MSE) on RTP.
Hi Steve, that is correct, I'm actually posting this from IE8 in that VM right now.

Posting with FF, XPbox, both RTP's on.

When I started up this XP box earlier this morning I had both on RTP, and did some clean-up, Defrag, and updated programs that needed it. It ran well for what it is, the 7box has me spoiled.

The last program I updated was FireFox (FF) to 9.0.1, and stayed with it for about 1 1/2 hours, and it ran okay.

Then went to IE8, it started out okay, but after about 45minutes it went back to doing what it did yesterday.
Before I could catch it, it froze, and Task Manager automatically tried to shut it down, but couldn't.
The could not end warning box popped up, I hit end now, and IE shutdown.

I'm posting now with FF, and it feels more solid than IE. It is not a big loss if I do not figure this out because the DW stays on the 7box, and IE works great over there with both RTP's running.
I realize that IE is needed for updating the OS with Microsoft (MS), and it should handle that okay, if not I'll just shut one or the others RTP off.

I did a CHKDSK on here earlier, and will do a SFC /Scannow when I get done here.

This informational thread is marked as solved, but ongoing.

Earlier today I wanted to run a SFC /Scannow, but ran into the "need XP SP3 Disk" request from the SFC program, like other users I do not have one.
We did not receive one when we purchased this machine, and upgraded to SP3 online, so I would at least have to have a disk with XP SP3.
I wonder who among my circle of friends might have one. I will have to check with my brother.

So I did the next best thing, I booted into Safe Mode and selected "Last Known Good Configuration", and that is where I am at now.

I am going to mark this informational thread as solved, but ongoing.

Been running for two hours now, and just had a small hicup......

I went to create a new tab, and then click on it and the "I am busy spinning circle" froze, everything froze.
I waited just a few seconds and IE came back to life.

Maybe that last known good config helped.
