Windows Defender vs. Spybot and Adware

I came to Windows 7 directly from XP bypassing Vista. Under XP I ran Adware, Spybot and AVG. I just discovered Windows Defender and wonder if, under Win7, a combination of AVG and Defender will give the comparable protection level I had under the XP combination of Spybot, Adware and AVG. Any thoughts on this?

    Thank you very much.

I didn't try newer versions of AVG (older wasn't fully compatible with Win7), but I used it in Vista...
    This combination worked fine....

Personally, don't use Windows Defender. I always Disable it.

You can stick with spybot. Malwarebytes is really good, as is superantispyware.

So far Defender and MSE have done a fine job for me...

Windows Defender is meh, Spybot is better, I would think.

But I prefer Microsoft Security Essentials between the 2, or any others.

spybot has failed badly on an already infected computer in my past experience with vista n seven. Not Recommended.
