Let's see if flushing the DNS cache and restoring MS's Hosts file will help ...

Copy and paste these lines in Note pad.

@Echo on
pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
attrib -h -s -r hosts
echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
attrib +r +h +s hosts
popd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset all
netsh int ip reset all
shutdown -r -t 1
del %0

Save as flush.bat to your desktop.

Double click on the flush.bat file to run it.Vista and Windows 7... right click the .bat file and choose to run as Administrator. Your computer will reboot itself.

Thanks for reply Jacee. But before trying this, what exactly does this flush.bat do or modify with my system?

It will reset IE to your "default" Internet connection and restore Microsoft's original Hosts file.
Sometimes a bad DNS entry will be cached and you will need to flush the DNS cache to get rid of it.

Hello Gerald,

If the great advice from Jacee doesn't help, then you might also see if using only OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to reset Windows Update may help afterwards.

Windows Update - Reset

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Also, consider an uninstall/reinstall of MSE.

And a scan by Malwarebytes to insure a virus did not corrupt MSE.
