trojandownloader.java removal

Can anyone help? A few weeks ago I was made aware that I had the above listed trojan residing on my computer. Using MSE I completed a removal and received a notice from MSE that the trojan had been successfully removed.

However, since then I have had a SLOW computer. Could the trojan still be out there and if so does anyone have recommendations for how to make certain the trojan is gone? Is there anything else I should try?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Deana

Even though MSE removed it, i would download Malwarebytes and run a full scan and see what it comes up with. Trojans and viruses can hide in the boot mgr or almost anywhere on the computer, sometime's its easier to install a backup image or do a clean install, these can be faster and more reliable.

As member above said, download Malwarebytes: Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer and do a full scan. It anything is found by MB, report here.

Also I would suggest to check the running services and processes.

Services - Start or Disable
