You could try to run this program to see if that solves the problem.

The virus has probably damaged some files, so you may need to do a repair install.

Also, if you can boot into safe mode, or safe mode with command prompt and your KB works on that, you can run a SFC /Scannow to see if this can restore some of the files. Make sure to run it 3X as SFC doesn't always get everything on the 1st pass

Another option, can you do a system restore 2 or 3 points past the time of infection? If you can, this
may solve the problem, although a full system scan after doing so would be advisable.
