Upgrading to a Pro version of Malwarebytes... advice please!

If I go to the company site https://store.malwarebytes.org/342/p...=bottom_button it costs £19.95. and includes a backup CD and something called Extended Download.

There are what seem to be similar products from Amazon DSOLUTION Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Lifetime - Windows: Amazon.co.uk: Software @ £8.99 +p&p
    Or Malwarebyte UK Retail - PRO Lifetime: Amazon.co.uk: Software @£12.99 + p&p.
    Neither include the extras.
I’m uncertain which would be the one to go for once p&p is taken in to consideration.
    Your thoughts?

I'd go for the cheapest in your situation, presumably Amazon. I can't image you would need any of the "extras". I don't know about that "P and P" stuff--I assume that is for a CD version, which you don't really need.

I recently saw it for $14 US.

I paid around $20 for my copy---directly from Malwarebytes. All you really need is a means to download it and a legitimate Product Key to activate it.

    Rundwald, FWIW

Whenever I purchase a software product by download, I immediatly create a cdrom with the program and a text file with the product serial number. I name the text file the same as the product name with the .txt extension and I no longer need to download the program.

the option for extended download options is not necessary. It is only for those who don't make a backup copy of the product and serial.,

Malwarebytes is always available to download from their site. Just order the cheapest retail Pro version as all you need is the Key. If you have the free version on your system all you need to do is enter the Key and it unlocks the Pro features. The latest version is 1.60.1.1000. I would get the DSOLUTION one from Amazon, its the best price and these are the official product from Malwarebytes. The included CD is probably an old version but all you need is the Key and just download the latest version from Malwarebytes or just Update the version you have now.

Thanks all. DSolution versionnow bought and installed. Two questions.

I note that a password can be set. How essential is that for a sole domestic user, seeing that Mbytes' purpose is to prevent introduction of nasties?

How often have owners here had to use FileAssassin?

I don't use the MBAM password.
I tried it, but it doesn't work the way i hoped it would.
I log in Windows with a Standard account, and some features of MBAM can only be used from an Admin account.
I was hoping it would prompt me for the MBAM PW if i tried to use an "Admin feature", but it didn't.
I right click MalwareBytes and click "Run As Administrator" when i need to use MBAM Admin features.
I'm not sure what the MBAM PW really does, but i think i read in their forum that it's a WIP at this time.

I have never used, or had a need to use FileAssassin.

Dont know what else you have running real-time, but i would take a look at possible conflicts. I just use the free version for periodic scans.
