    Welcome
I have the same situation, on the free version of winpatrol, I assumed that it is suppose to work that way. I use Scotty the Dog as a warning. If I am notified of a program that I did not authorize, I make sure that I remove it or at least run my Anti Virus and Malwarebytes to be sure that it is safe.

I have the pro version and it works the same. I do not think that this is a Winpatrol problem, but it comes from the program(s) that want to install.'
If you use it as an alert, then it does it's job. For uninstalling the 'intruder', you have to use other means.

I'm guessing you are talking about a startup being added, sometimes you have to disable those in msconfig if they keep coming back when telling winpatrol to remove from startup.
