MSE claims not run lately AFTER a scan

While during my weekly checks and updates on my PC I found that MSE says it has not run lately. I ran a scan (twice) but get the same results.

Any help and or suggestions with this problem?

    Maybe uninstall/restart/re-install MSE

OK.......I uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled MSE. Just ran a scan and everything seems fine now.

    THanks for help.

    You are welcome.
I would also suggest that you set MSE to do a daily quick scan - primarily to have it get the updates each day before the scan. You can throttle the CPU usage to 10%.

I have it set to run every night at 2 am. However this morning when I turned on the PC, I had a "red" MSE home page that stated that MSE needed to be "Turned On". The last run time showed just after I reinstalled it, not at 2 am this morning.

Something's not right! Will have to do more research.

Not only is it glitchy, it doesn't detect risks as well as many other alternatives.

I've actually tested it on infected archives, and it missed a dozen viruses that NOD32 bagged.

I agree. This is why each night I run SuperAntiSpyware, MBAM, SpyBot and Crap Cleaner. Nothing gets everything.

I haven't used MSE in a year or so but had a similar problem. Do an uninstall, then go to C:/Program Data/Microsoft and see if it still has some MSE files left over and delete them. Then re-install.

Are you by any chance running CCleaner? If so, you need to uncheck the Windows Defender & MS Antimalware boxes found under the Applications tab. This was a similar problem in a couple posts a while back and that was the solution.

So you have MSE set to run at 2am and then sometime after that shut off? Just making sure that I understand your setup.
