Anyone know of this one

Have been having problems with IE9 dropping in and out for the last few days and read a Google that said something about a virus being the cause.

Ran MBAM and it came up with PUP.Bundleinstaller.Somoto - have got rid of it but cannot find any reference to it via Google search - only PUP.Bundleinstaller.OI so am wondering how I got this thing as I am usually very careful browsing.

Probably Its a name changing trojan. If no hits in Google, that is the most usual reason. You will be very surprised. I clicked on Google a few days ago an Security Essentials warned me of a virus. They have many ways to get to you.
Best advice
Good anti virus
Firewall
Malwarebyes
Wot Web Of Trust
and
Win Patrol a pseudo antivirus. Scottty the dog barks when any changes are detected. Up to you to install or not.

As MBAM found this for you,
You may want to do a Google advanced search for "PUP.Bundleinstaller.OI" (or whatever) limiting the site to "malwarebytes.org"

Here is ONE link I found you can look at...

HJT will not save log - Malwarebytes Forum

search for "PUP.Bundleinstaller.OI" (without quotes) in the thread.

Thanks Richard I think what made me a bit surprised is my security didn't pick it up or maybe I missed an alert perhaps?

Anyway I have those things on board except Win Patrol so should be good now

With the name changers, if they are really new, may not be a virus definition out yet.

So am going to do a scan with my security them run that Norton one and maybe one or two of the other one off scanners.
