    Check Disk scans

I ran a check disk scan (automatically fix file system errors). Later ran a check disk scan (scan for & attempt recovery of bad sectors) when MBAM message popped up which read:

Malwarebytes has detected a malicious process attempting to start and has blocked the execution attempt. Please select an option below
Disable protection -- Ignore -- Quarantine. I selected Quarantine.
    C:\program files\PC-Doctor for windows\calibration\temppe\message box strings.DA Designer.CS.DLL Trojan Inject.

Then I got a second one when the scan was finished and more since.
Actually there are four of the same listed in quarantine box now.

Gosh, I have never heard of getting a virus when doing a disk scan??
Should I just delete all items from the quarantine box or do I need an uninstall tool?

Please, some help would be so appreciated. Thanks

I suspect the chkdsk just "stirred the pot", which then caused MBAM to detect C:\program files\PC-Doctor for windows\calibration\tempPE\message box strings.DA Designer.CS.DLL

PC Doctor has a DOS and PE version. If you navigate to

    C:\program files\PC-Doctor for windows\calibration\tempPE\

    Do you still find

    message box strings.DA Designer.CS.DLL

In that directory? If so, I would scan it at Virus Total. I suspect it is part of the PE environment, and may be a false positive. If still in quarantine, you can restore it to scan. You can always scan that directory with MBAM and quarantine it again if VT says it is infected. A Guy

    Check Disk scans

A Guy - thank you for your reply.

Since posting, ran another MBAM scan and within a minute infection went up to 16 and when finished, went up to 36 infections. Quarantined & deleted---restarted PC and it froze on shut down. A few hair-pulling hours later, scanned again with MBAM and deleted 40 infections. The last scan was OK. MSsafety scanner was clean also.
    I checked C:\program files\PC-Doctor for windows\calibration\tempPE\message box strings.DA Designer.CS.DLL
---tempPE is an empty file now. Does this negate the need to upload to Virus Total?

Can I assume confidentally that PC is clean now?
It just seemed that it was spreading so fast & furious.

These missing files (\message box strings.DA Designer.CS.DLL) -- are they essential to the PC?

Question please: When uploading to Virtual Total for a scan, do you put in the line with C:\ program files etc..... ?

Sure am going to be hesitant to scan these places again and also Avast boot scan !!!!!
    Thanks for your help.
