One Nasty Virus (Several Issues occuring)
Well, I've always considered myself as someone who would never have to ask for help, I've always had a great understanding of computers, however I am stumped as to where to go now. I cannot find any solutions or help on Google, so that's why I'm here now.
I have a fairly odd virus that's been messing with my computer, I cannot even confirm it's a virus, I've mostly been using my best judgement on whats going on.
Problems that are occuring:
- Task Manager becomes unresponsive upon ending processes, making programs unable to run/close, only way around this so far is to do a hard shut down.
- Same symptoms as Task Manager freezing whenever I try to install an anti-virus.
- Instead of getting the basic "A Program is not responding." with a progress bar error, i now receive a window which states. "The application is not responding. The program may respond again if you wait. Do you want to end the process?"
- A window with a title of "You are about to be logged off" and dialog of "Windows must now restart because the DCOM Server Process Launcher service terminated unexpectedly." The source of this error message comes from a process named "wlrmdr.exe", which is running under my username, not anything similar to SYSTEM, NETWORK, etc..
- Safe mode cannot be accessed. (I'm suspecting this is due to basic video card drivers being corrupt.) I get to the line "C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\CLASSPNP.SYS" and then get a black screen, no cursor, no sounds, nothing. This causes my monitor to fall asleep.
- USBs that contain storage will not be noticed at all. (Ex: Flash Drivers, iPods.)
- System restore fails to complete.
I've scanned my computer several times with Malware Bytes and Ad-Aware, every time finding no viruses at all, however I've been told this could be caused by lack of safe mode. Even using a windows disc in order to repair startup errors hasn't changed a thing. The only solutions I have found online is to restore from and Windows Disc. The only issue with that is I do lots of programming, a lot of programs (and licenses to C++/C#/VB.net 2010) will all be lost in a wipe. I also do not have any way of backing up my programs due to lack of a working storage device or free space on a hard drive.
If any more information is needed, let me know and I will fetch it for you.
