Antivirus to fight Smart Fortress2012?

I've been stupid enough to open up a zip file, one that turned out to contain the Smart Fortress 2012 virus, and as I then was unable to do anything at all with the computer, I even dowloaded and paid for the damn virus (in belief that it was an antivirus) to infest my beloved PC...

It wasn't until yesterday, when I found another sign of a virus that it hit me that Smart fortress might be one, and not an antivirus software, and now I need help figuring out what legit antimalware I should get to help fight this *******, and others, off.

I don't have any antivirus installed on my computer at all at the moment, and have not had for about the last 2 years, so I guess I had this coming... I know that there probably isn't a one and only best software for this, but if anyone have had this virus and knows how to get rid of it, and prevent similar ones, please help me!

Without a doubt, this rogue was created for one reason; to scare you into thinking you are infected so that you will then purchase the program. It goes without saying that you should definitely not buy Smart Fortress 2012, and if you already have, please contact your credit card company and dispute the charges stating that the program is a scam and a computer virus.
