    Welcome to Seven Forums.

I don't know anything about the BitLocker which is I understand is bundled with Enterprise and Ultimate Editions. Still I was watching this thread to read about this issue as it developed. As there has been no development for 19 hours on this thread, I now feel that there is no solution for retrieving the system.

You may wait a day or two more to see if some suggestions come up but the only way out now seems to be to clean reinstall Windows 7 all over again. I hope you would not lose too much data. I don't think that the locked up files shall be visible with Ubuntu and Hiren's DVDs.

No solution yet in the Forum If you have found one elsewhere please let us know about it.

Otherwise I think the time has now come for reinstalling Windows 7 afresh.

That is even worse because the external hard disk must be having only data which must be extremely important to you. I looked everywhere on the Net but did not find an answer to your problem. Now I suggest that you keep the encrypted data on the external hard disk and immediately get in touch with the nearest Microsoft Office on the telephone, explain the problem and request for help.

Their technical staff might be of help. In case Microsoft is able to help and resolve the matter then please let this Forum's Members know how it got resolved.

    Hi,

No progress report from you yet. Were you able to contact Microsoft and what did they have to say?
