I deleted Webroot off my In-Law's computer kind of "forced" on him by a friendly Sales Rep.
I got rid of it because it obviously couldn't prevent his multiple infections (My nephew notoriously uses this comp to click on, as it seems, any unsafe link that is out there
Since I switched him over to Malwarebytes no more late evening help calls
go figure

Hi gregrocker,

This is Greg from the Webroot Support Team.

Although no security product can guarantee a user 100% protection from all threats, I can tell you that Webroot SecureAnywhere is a truly revolutionary security product that is the lightest and fastest antivirus/ anti malware solution on the market today.

The client itself installs in under one minute, only uses about 15 MB of disk space, and uses very few resources during the background scanning process which only takes a few minutes to complete. Unlike traditional antivirus/anti malware applications which rely on the downloading of definition files to stay protected against the threats that are found every day, SecureAnywhere uses a combination of our cloud database along with local behavioral files analysis to keep your computer protected against the latest threats. This technology allows all users of SecureAnywhere products to be protected against these threats in almost real-time.

Although using SecureAnywhere by itself will provide your friends computer with great protection, you can also use other real-time or on-demand products such as Malwarebytes, if you prefer a layered security approach. Because SecureAnywhere was built from the ground up using the same approach that Prevx used to ensure compatibility with 3rd party software. We extensively QA WSA against all major AVs on every release to ensure this compatibility remains and architecturally, our products are immune to conflict

I hope that my explanation helps you and your friend to understand SecureAnywhere and if you have any further questions, please let me know.

Thanks,
Greg

Any opinions on this?

Webroot Secure Anywhere Antivirus is very good. I use it myself and I highly recommend it. I have had WR clean off some wicked malware including rootkits from a couple of my clients' PCs. I really like it because the scanning is fast (usually under 2 minutes), it is not invasive like others e.g., it won't ask you a bunch of questions and you can run it along side of MSE and BitDefender, etc., and its signature files are cloud-based so they are the most recent. I would suggest, running it along side of Comodo Internet Security (Free Version).

Despite taking all best practices cautions, some malware is still getting through. I would like to add Webroot (2013) as another security layer. Is it compatible with MSE?
