Normally one should not run two anti-virus Programs simultaneously. You may install both of them but run them only one at a time would my answer.

So from your statements you are actually trying to run three(3) antivirus programs.
MSE, Avast and now installl Avira.
MSE and Avast will sometimes run together.

You usually only want to run one antivirus at a time.
If two are installed you may have conflicts as you are now even trying to install a third one.

You can install software such as Malwarebytes with MSE, Avast or Avira as it is not an antivirus software.

Avast has a free antivirus program. You will use the Windows firewall with it.

You'd have to make sure one is set as on-demand (not actively scanning) while the other is always resident and on-access. I don't think you'll find many fans of this setup, especially being that you have MSE installed already. MSE alone should meet most your demands with an occassional scan from MalwareBytes Free.

You might find this a strange analogy but anti virus software are like women. One at a time is best, multiples can cause you serious problems.!

I have paranoia (like bad) its just .. part my brain... I want my computer be safe from everything lol but not unresponsive.

Will avast and addware combined be enough along with windows firewall? Once I start going school I want to make sure I be secure no matter what network I use no matter what I got on my computer. I want to be able to no worry a virus will get in and destroy all my work or send emails to friends with viruss... you hear about these things ... I must admit I never gotten a virus but I have always been paranoid about protecting my computer this being my first labtop :P lol

Avast bogs me down though scanning every file anoying so I wonder if I can turn Microsoft essential off and is windows basic firewall enough by its self? or should I be running something else in back round if I turn Microsoft essitials/.

Incidentally Avast Free needs to be re-registered each year to get free updates for another year. So when it expires for you in a few weeks time then please register it again for getting free updates for another year.

Are there any virus's or malware that programs wouldn't detect? Like bios virus? That could account for very odd random problems. I assume that computer fine but update problems stuff are frustrating. I don't get why none of the fixes everyones told me about don't work only thing havn't tried is a fresh install of windows. Or returning computer to get repaired.

Yes!!!!

That is what virus writers do for a living.

You will never be able to get your PC perfectly secure if you have an Internet connection.

I'd look into that paranoia. I hear it is treatable, to an extent.

good point your very right... i guess the other side of the coin is if I didn't have odd system issues i would be less parnoiad. I mean... maybe trying fix problems that are very possibly hardware related with anti virus stupid ... but yea... ok I get that...

Well... so looks like fresh install windows or some complaning is what im getting from you guys? because really issues im having if there a virus or malware or something or bad windows system setting... no amount of apps will fix that right?

would a fresh install take care of a system problem? Like if windows messed up somewhere or is it possible to damage you system permenelty? to a extent? or could a power issue lets say damage the mother board?

again I keep asking if anyone knows way test the mother board but again the answer I assume is no and send it back to toshiba.... :P or be happy with what I got lol

Just run Microsoft Security Essentials. Also, as some other posters have said, please run a Malwarebytes scan every onvce in awhile. I try to do that about once a week, but around 2 to 3 times a month is ok.

If you want to be safe, just add Sandboxie to what ever A/V you want and go surfing. Sandboxie is most important, and the Anti virus choice.........not so much.

You can but your sure to have conflicts I suggested remove the other 2 anti virus and choose one and stay with that and just get app like malwarebytes,Search And destroy and Super anti spyware to help your anti virus find anything that might have got past your antivirus
