I found another combination in this topic What's the Best Anti-virus?
It's MSE, Comodo D+, and Sandboxie. So i installed MSE v2.1.1116.0 and Sandboxie v3.68 and Comodo Internet security premium v5.10. Is this a good combination? :)
There are many good combinations, unfortunately you'll never be able to find the 'perfect' one. Sandboxie keeps things from being downloaded to the computer without your express permission. It sort of traps everything in a seperate area. Read about it here: Sandboxie - Sandbox software for application isolation and secure Web browsing
I'm not sure how well they run together, but if someone else mentioned that they run well as a group, they might come in handy. I just don't know myself as I only use MSE
Personally, with Windows 7, I stopped using a third-party firewall with Windows Vista. I have MSE and the Windows 7 Firewall, WinPatrol and MBAM. (Then again, I'm fortunate in that none of my computers from Windows 95 to present have every been infected.)
Malware woundnt dare to even try to infect your computer However the rest of us are screwed.
Because of MSEs behavior blocker, and Comodos hipps, it is quite possible that there might be a conflict in the future. Plus a windows update may grenade everything anyways. I say pick only one A/V to go with Sandboxie and be done with it.
Hi,
I’m going to do a basic explanation of all the terms you need to know when it comes to computer security and then give my opinion on the best products. It will make it as simple as possible.
Anti-virus, Anti-malware and Anti-spyware programs all do similar things, protect your computer from threats that may steal personal information or render your computer unusable.
An anti-virus program protects your PC from computer viruses. Computer viruses are one of the original computer threats. They spread from PC to PC and more often than not just wreak havoc on your computer. The word virus is often used to describe other PC threats such as malware and spyware. Find out more about viruses here: Computer virus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An anti-malware program is designed to protect your PC from malware. Malware (short for Malicious software) is software designed to disrupt computer operation, gather sensitive information, or gain unauthorized access to computer systems. They are nasty pieces of work. Find out more here: Malware - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An anti-spyware program is designed to protect your PC from spyware. Spyware is a form of malware that collect personal data. This data is often bank details and can be used to steal money form credit cards. It is secretly installed on a user’s PC without their knowledge. More info here: Spyware - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There are different opinions on the different products to use. However, there are some rules. No anti-virus, anti-malware or antispyware product is perfect. Infections can always slip through but some products are stronger than others. In regards to having more than one installed, there is a rule. You should only have one anti-virusproduct installed that has real time scanning. Real time scanning constantly scans your pc and prevents viruses getting on there in the first place. Multiple real time scanners can conflict with each other. A highly recommended anti-virus product with real time scanning is Microsoft security essentials. Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows. However, there are other free products such as Avast! Or AVG, all of which are good. Then you can have as many On-Demand scanners as you like. These scanners only run when you tell them to. A good free on demand malware scanner is Malwarebytes Anti Malware. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Download.com This is very powerful. In terms of anti-spyware, it possible to have a real time Anti-Virus and a real time anti spyware. They shouldn’t conflict. There are loads of anti-spyware programs available and all are pretty much as good as each other.
Other than that, there isn’t much else. It is important to have a firewall that prevents hackers from gaining access to your system. The built in windows one is good enough. Sandbox programs like Sandboxie can run suspicious programs in a virtual environment so any changes they try to make to your pc will only affect the virtual pc which is deleted when you close the program.
Sorry for the long length of this but I hope it helps
Stephen
Thank you Stephen. Length is not a problem since information is useful. :)
So, after i installed MSE, Comodo and Sandboxie my laptop started to lag even more. Beside that Comodo had some false positives which is kind of annoying and if you don't know what your dealing with you may take the wrong action. In exchange MSE prevented a Trojan infection :) and i can tell i'm very content of MSE.
This is my first pc, and win 7 its my first OS :) and until now none of av i had found my pc infected with any kind of viruses, malware or spyware.
