I see a program over in the UK, basicly your Phone will look for a wifi that you have used before, if your phone connects to this and you use it too connect to the internet you will be giving your detials that you log at that time to the person that is waiting with the Hacking software.

I believe it was the Gadget show. A channel 5 Production. Very interesting watching it.

Best practice would be to never use public WIFI, even if the WIFI has encryption enabled. Remember, you are not the only one that is connected to that WIFI. All it takes is a little know how, and all the data transmitted over that wireless network can be captured. This holds true for laptops as well!

If you do end up using public access WIFI, please remember:
-Never log into any site requiring a username and password
-When you are not using your WIFI connection, turn it off.
-Turn off your Bluetooth connection as well, it can be exploited.
-Use these connections for basic surfing only (not facebook, or any other social media site)

Hope this helps answer some of your questions.
