could my kaspersky idle scanning cause random reboots

I am using kaspersky internet security 2012 and had ithe dle scanning option enabled. Idle scanning updates definitions, scans memory and files andother intensive tasks when computer is locked, or in idle and screensaver starts. Idle scanning ends when computer use starts.

All of a sudden in May I started getting random reboots every few days when system was idle or screensaver working or right after screensaver ended and I started a program. Got no dump file, error code 41-kernel power-rebooted without prober shutdown . Did hardware tests(not psu) had no errors, and no virus no temp issues

At wits end I disabled idle scanning in kaspersky and the last 3 days I have had no reboots leaving computer running for hours and screensaver working. COULD THIS HAVE CAUSED MY REBOOTS.

Hiyya marty Mate I have had KIS for over three years now and apart form not getting proper installs have had no problems at all.

Have you contacted support or the forum? Kaspersky Lab Forum (Powered by Invision Power Board) if they cannot give you a definite answer - which I doubt you might need to reinstall and config again.

What version is showing in support? is it like mine in the pic if not then you haven't been getting the correct updates.

By the by you are not running any other ISS other than Malwarebytes (free) are you?
