Antivirus for a Server (windows 7)

Hello again :)

A client of mine has 1 server and 7 PCs;
- Windows 7 installed on the server / mirroring on 2 HDD (don't ask me why Windows 7 and not windows server, he wished so, contrary to my advice);
- Windows 7 on all other PCs

For virus protection, i know of 2 ways (enlighten me for me, if u think abt more):
1- Install one Antivirus on the server, install clients on the PCs, let the antivirus on the server updates itself and deploy the updates on the PCs (I guess this consume less downloads)
2- Install individual antivirus on each PC and let each update itself

Which way do you advise?
If choice 1, what antivirus can I use (and can it work the way 1 says if the OS is Windows 7 on the server or does it need a Windows Server OS so that it deploy the update on all PCs.

Eset Endpoint protection is a solution for choice 1 and will let you do what you have described it is a business soltuion rather than a Home User solution and is compatible with Windows 7 obviously it will be more expensive and minimum user licences atart at 5 your friend has seven so a 10 user licence is the minimum you would need but costs increase for those amount of licence.

Eset smart smart security 5 is a Home User solution but you have to install all updates via individual pc's rather than from a single host as with Endpoint solution and enforced on clients. Endpoint is geared towards server editions of windows primarily.

There are many solutions out there my advice is to review the solution you are interested in and ensure it does what you/Friend wants it to do.

I personally use Eset and find it a great solution for me have it installed on client systems at the moment but i have just installed a windows server 2008 R2 so the endpoint protection solution will be where i m going. Eset has great detection rates and low false positive rates and is light on system resources which is always an important consideration.
