    1,026 Problems Detected

    Hello Guys,

Basically as I've joined Skype I've noticed I've been receiving a lot of DDos attacks and I was wondering If anyone could link or help me with the issue, I ran a scan recently today and It showed me that I have 1,026 problems since the start of me having this computer and that it's in critical condition.

Is there anyone who can help over-come these problems as I'm struggling to play any sort of Java games and when I do get online, it automatically disconnects me and won't let me get back on. I've been re-searching about how I can sort these out but the sites that I've been visiting all charge a lot of money which I don't have/wish to pay for. I'll provide a brief information of what type of PC I'm using If it may help you out in finding me a site it can be fixed on without being charged.

"Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-Bit Operating System"
    RAM : 1.00GB
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU, 6300 @ 1.86GHz 1.87 GHz

    Regards
    - Shabaz

Start with the free, bootable diagnostics here: Initial Hardware Diagnostics
If this is a virus issue, please post over in the Security forums.

If I restored my system would they all go, I understand If I do It'll get rid all of the documents and it'll start afresh but I don't mind as long as I'm anti-virus/DDos free

Do you know if that works?

What "scan" are you referring too? Chkdsk? Also, unless you operate a company server or are hosting some other service or whatnot, I very highly doubt you'd be the target of a DDoS attack. If anything, you'd have a virus that would make your PC a contributor of a DDoS attack, not a target.

You said you've been having serious issues with your PC the moment you had it? That sounds more like you're dealing with a hardware problem than anything else. Though I won't speculate any further, but we'll need some data to progress. Best option right now is with a JCGriff Report. In addition, describe the difficulty you're having with the Java games, and by "online" do you mean connecting to your local network? Do you hook up directly to a modem or do you have a router as well? Are you also suffering any other symptoms like crashes, instant reboots, BSODs, etc.? The more thorough and comprehensive you are with your description of your symptoms, the easier it is for us to diagnose the cause.

What did you scan with that found all of those problems? Usually that many issues would leave a computer unbootable.

I've been playing Runescape for almost 9 years, if you've not heard of Runescape it's an online game. Ever since I left that I started playing RSPSs (Runescape Private Servers) where you face users DDosing IP's just for the fun of it. I've been away on vacation for a long-time and my two younger brothers aged 10 and 12 were left responsible with the computer. They often visit skype to speak to their online-gaming friends and from what I've heard people can find out your IP from it.

I'll be honest to you I've never had any type of "Anti-virus protecter" on this computer, ever and I personally think this is why. I recently took "regcurepro" setup scanner and from that they told me I have 1,026 problems with my computer and that it is critical condition. This is why I felt the need in asking the proffesionals on what they think is best to do.

Depends on what you mean by "restore". If you mean Windows builtin System Restore, then most likely no, since malware will often attach themselves to the restore. If you mean a restore partition like what is included with many OEMs nowadays, which is designed to reset your entire system to factory default, then you have better luck with that. They still have the potential of being infected, and if you have a rootkit, that most likely won't fix your problem. Still, if you're willing to go to such measures by all means.

Btw, I want to add that 1GB RAM for a Windows 7 system is prolly stretching it rather thin in regards to available system resources. You just barely meet minimum specs for it, so it'll work, but there can be problems as memory quickly exhausts itself and the system has to resort to thrashing and the like to compensate.

What do you reccommend? I just want to get rid of all the problems in one-go, something which is basic and not complex as I'm not very good when it comes to computers.

Well, I don't believe it's the cause of your problems entirely, but it is the potential of causing issues. Doubling your RAM to 2GB is a very cheap upgrade ($10) and will alleviate a lot of issues in the long run.

Again, if you want a more reliable diagnosis you'll have to start by providing us that JCGriff Report. In addition, other people here as well as I (and yourself) feel the need you'll need to look at cleaning your PC of any malware. Provide the report first, then we'll see where to go from there. Follow usasma's recommendations as well.

Unfortunately Registry cleaners aren't all they're reported to be. Most folks around here don't recommened using them unless you know for certain what you're cleaning. It's not unusual for a Paid Regcleaner to report many "errors" to get you to buy the product.

Piriform has some good utilities and they are free. Try cCleaner and report what it finds, not necessarily the number of errors, but the actual errors. I'm not sure how to export the errors found, but there might be a way.

Consider a virus scanner (MSE, AVG, Avast) all free - all good.
