    Firewall issues

    Hello
I ran Gibson's tests and all was good except it said my firewall allowed a leak.
I have Win 7 x64,i5,1T,6GB,3.30 GHz and use the firewall that came with Windows Home Premium.
    I do not undrstand firewalls.
What can I do to protect my pc if after trying to read the directions, I still do not undertsand what to check and uncheck.
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi seven2..

Are you just using the windows firewall? If so you could open the command prompt and try using the netstat /b command, this will tell you what bit of software is connecting to the internet! You could then block or allow this via the firewall settings... I'd try this free firewall very good and easy to use

    tutorial

I was amazed at how Britec could cross reference the names to see what they were; unfortunately, it was well beyond my capabilities.

I used to have Norton's suite for free which thought for you. Although it did cause conficts and included a lot of what you don't need, but it may be what an unskilled person needs. I have to weigh p's + c's.
    Thank you
