Tor.exe?

O keep seeing a program running called tor.exe. then pctools told me it was trying to access the net and asked me whether or not to let it. When I looked for it it's located in c:\program files. When I pulled up the properties, absolutely nothing listed.
Does anyone know if this is a windows program or if not, is it safe?

As mentioned, TOR is for anonymous browsing:

https://www.torproject.org/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tor_(anonymity_network)

It is used in the programs Privoxy or Polipo, and other TOR enabled browsers such as OperaTor .

Have you, or someone using the PC downloaded and used such a program?
