    dl.google.com certificate security error

Hello, I went to install Google Chrome and the following appeared on IE9 "Do you want to run this application?" It then says it is from, "dl.google.com". I clicked on publisher -> details -> basic constraints and it had a yellow error symbol. The following were in the box, "Subject Type=End Entity
Path Length Constraint=None". Then go to Certification Path and it says, "The issuer of this certificate could not be found". Can I ask what's going on here? Is it OK to continue the installation or has the .exe being altered with?

P.S. I went onto the Google Forums for some support, but I have had no response in 14 hours. So thought I'd post it here since I always get a helpful reply.

Are you saying you were downloading Chrome with IE, and IE asked if you want to continue? Where did you initiate the download? http://dl.google.com/ redirects to https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/, which is the legitimate Chrome download site. If in doubt, this download is safe:

    Download Google Chrome 20.0.1132.47 - FileHippo.com

But I'd say the 1st download was also ok, why the certificate error I am unsure, perhaps because of the dl.google.com source.
