The trial version as a standard user definitely hangs on those same image files. I just killed the scan/test after 20+ minutes of inactivity on the part of mbam. In all of these testes, I've not seen a reason for mbam to hang like that. Its not like it was yielding to some other process.

Now to test the free (non-trial) version...
...using an admin account <---same hang
...using a standard account <---same hang

I just noticed that I can't scan selected files by right-clicking them with V2. Is it like that for everyone or just me?

You are correct. That option is no longer on Explorer's file or folder context menu.

That is because you installed version 2 over top of version 1 - correct?

The Explorer context menu option to scan stuff is added by version 1.xx.

That Explorer context menu option is not removed by installing version 2.

A fresh install of version 2 does not seem to have anything added to Explorer's context menu :-(

Ahhh, so off by default.

I don't have version 2 installed permanently, so I've not looked around the interface that much. Thanks.

Thanks for that. I'm surprised it's off by default.

Malwarebytes version 1.61
Malwarebytes released version 1.61 today. I tried to update using the auto update on a W7 x64 PC and it failed. I ran the mbam-clean uninstall utility and downloaded/installed version 1.61 without issues. Had to re-register and reconfigure the options. I'll wait a few days to see if others...

Malwarebytes Database Version
I just ran the updater in Malwarebytes, and was surprised at the change in version numbers, as can be seen in the screenshot. I suppose they may just have decided to use a different system, but I'm wondering if it might indicate something more nefarious, like someone else slipping into the picture?

Full retail version of Malwarebytes & Comodo.. anyone using both?
I recently purchased the retail version of Malwarebytes just to see if it's any good. It seems almost mindless how people talk about Malwarebytes but and I have yet to try it. However, the only computer I have that I am absolutely determined to keep for more than a few months already has comodo...
