I've been using version 2.0.2.1012 since it was a public Beta with no issues. I have it set to update every hours, takes about 10 seconds or so and uses little resources.

It blocks malicious webpages based on an IP address list which I like.

Yea the updating is just personal preference,
    You know my system
If I have photoshop - CorelDraw plus browser=youtube it gets a little scarce and I hate keeping up with annoying processes when doing stuff I do care about,
Once a day is plenty if I decide to do a scan I'll manually update before anyway so what's the point beside an over active utility updating constantly 5 minute default to check for updates is pretty whack though

I now use both Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware as SAS did detect 4 tracking cookies
that was sending spam mail through my hotmail without even having access to it.
(they may seem harmless most of them but believe me it was able to do it lol for the first time in years)

I've never seen MBAM default to a 5 minute "check for updates".
For me the default has been 1 hour.

Maybe because I download the new installer and update over the top, and don't use the "Update Program" option ?
For me, that is the most reliable update method, and carries forward my settings ...

I have the 2.0.2.1012 version on my home systems, and it works fine for me.

If you use scheduled frequency/ Realtime the default recurrence is 5 minutes or so it shows on mine ?
The only options for realtime is from 1-59 minutes,
So 5 minutes is what is auto selected on realtime,
    Cheers.

Yea, 5 minutes is the default for realtime.
But Hourly / 1 hour is the default as installed.

My MBAM updated a few days ago. The scans still take longer than they used to but they're a bit faster now. It still freezes for a minute or two when I exit after running a scan.
