Thank you Bill. First post updated. :)
Isn't mbam supposed to self update to the latest full release ?
I'm still showing 2.0.2.1012 :/
I looked through all of the settings pages and it doesn't have the option anymore to update versions automatically like 1.75.... used to have ?
Looks like I'll have to monitor it for a day or two and see if it switches on a daily scheduled update
Thanks,
Cheers.
Still using 1.75 as I've had crashing issues with all Beta releases. I'll try this new one and see what happens!
I rolled back to v1.75 when they first introduced v2 because definition file updates took forever. I had the problem on 2 PCs and tried over a number of days to make sure it wasn't an ISP issue.
Maybe v2.0.3.1025 has fixed this problem?
Well it's worked for me with no crashes this version. A couple of strange things though. Heuristics scanning was not selected in the settings but was still performed. Database updates worked fine. There's no scheduled updates in the free version.
Scanned one drive (Windows) and it took ages. 2+ hours.
EEK scanned three drives including rootkit scan in just under 2 hours. Same detections. (False positives as those registry entries are intentionally added but not standard)
Will I keep using MBAM? Yes it's my first choice for an additional on demand scanner.Code:Scan type: Custom Scan Objects: Rootkits, Memory, Traces, C:\, D:\, V:\ Detect PUPs: On Scan archives: Off ADS Scan: On File extension filter: Off Advanced caching: On Direct disk access: Off Scan start: 12/10/2014 03:33:14 Value: HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-165181766-1597162493-719806621-1000\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\POLICIES\EXPLORER -> NOFOLDEROPTIONS detected: Setting.NoFolderOptions (A) Value: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CURRENTVERSION\IMAGE FILE EXECUTION OPTIONS\IEXPLORE.EXE -> DEBUGGER detected: SecHijack (A) Scanned 193454 Found 2 Scan end: 12/10/2014 05:32:37 Scan time: 1:59:23
Malwarebytes is getting worse and worse. Installed the newest version and it is disabling itself!
What the heck are they doing over there?
