I didn't know that, i'll have to try it, thanks !You can also use CTRL/SHIFT/V to paste it in instead of right clicking or using V by itself. That will also remove any formatting.
Of course one can manually enter the license ID and key to activate MBAM Premium.
I have done so on many rigs for many years.
As others have correctly pointed out, one rationale for encouraging a copy/paste from the sales email is to avoid making inadvertent alphanumeric character substitutions during a manual entry, e.g. "I" and "1", "S" and "5", "O" and "0", "B" and "8".
Such substitutions are the most common cause of activation errors.
However, yes, during copy/paste, there can be hidden "formatting chars", and/or the users sometimes add extra spaces or hyphens before or after the character strings.
Bottom line:
It is absolutely untrue that one "MUST" copy and paste the license ID and Key.
That method works best for some, while manual entry works best for others.
As far as the "lost email" scenario, if the license was purchased directly from the Malwarebytes online store, then one need only contact the e-commerce partner, cleverbridge. They can retrieve the info.
Their contact information is here: https://support.malwarebytes.org/cus...ail-?b_id=6438
If the user purchased from a brick and mortar or from another online seller, then s/he would need to contact that seller for the license info.
Either way, it is suggested that the user always keep paper copies of the confirmation email, license info and sales transactions, for future reference.
Thank you,
Actually, as long as one's data has been properly backed up, it's not necessary to keep paper copies in most cases. I only keep paper copies of documents I absolutely have to have, such as home and car titles, birth certificates, receipts for warranties from companies that still anally and anachronistically require them for warranty claims, etc. I can keep all the paperwork I have to have paper copies of in a single envelope I keep in my safe deposit box at my credit union. Everything else has been digitized (I also digitize the paper copies I have to keep) and the originals destroyed.
^^ That sounds like a very robust and sound backup strategy, LF. ^^
I merely offered a suggestion that some folks -- particularly we old fogeys who still use paper for some things -- might find useful or handy.
It was not an official policy or procedure recommendation, nor was it intended to shift into a discussion of "backup plans" in general.
Thank you again,
I believe I've tried both ways in the past using capitals and not and it made no difference in failing to activate,
Just a quirk in Cleaver bridges font as far as I can tell,
As long as I have the purchase reference numbers I can get the issue or email resent again if need be but it's just a weird situation I've noticed and reminded of if every time using the clean utility or complete reinstall of windows,
The bazar part is the ID works and the keys do not.
Cheers.
As long as i use capital letters Mbam premium always activates .
Now I'm wondering if using a dash - is necessary :/
Doesn't seem consistent with the ID code ?
MBAM has been rock solid after it's shaky start. I'm always one to want newer version, but don't think I'll inflict any grief on myself with a beta. Still can't use the latest version of MBAE without it blocking all my browsers. Don't need a repeat of that. A Guy
