    UAC unsigned/Can't elevate error

    Hey guys!

I just installed 7 on my second computer, a Dell Inspiron 6400. Since this is my work computer I opted to upgrade rather than do the clean install. I'm having trouble with UAC. Anything I click with the shield gives me the error:

"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrect....." etc.

I cannot even register my key because doing so requires UAC.
There is only 1 user account on the computer and it says I am the Administrator.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I thought of this, but this requires clicking a link with UAC which either gives me that error or does nothing at all.

I don't know of a work around to disable UAC.

Ok I figured out my problem. I had Norton UAC for Vista and it was causing problems. I found the fix at this link: Re: windows 7 on top of norton uac - Vista User Access Control - Norton Community

    Basically....
    1) boot into safe mode
    2) Disable UAC
    3) restart
    4) download Norton UAC executable from their website
    5) run executable and choose uninstall (windows 7 control panel will not uninstall norton UAC)
    6) restart and change UAC back to whatever you want

    fixed!
