Thank you for excellent referenceS - still have a couple of questions: 1) instead of rescue Flash drive for use on netbook would like to create one for use on four PCs. I have 16 GB Flash drive, could easily use 32 GB flash drive. How do I create a resuce flash drive that boots to a menu? 2) in addition to using rescue Flash drive to reinstall image files would like to have a folder for Tools. In the folder have software for partitioning the hard drives and for diagonsing problems.

I use 4 computers. One is a netbook with and 10.2 " display and Adam processor. Another is a notebook with 15.4" dispaly which has a dual core CPU; both run Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit. I frequently use them at two locations where there are desktop computers that run Win XP Professional 32-bit. The desktops have stationary peripheral devices - printers an scanners. At both locations I have DSL and wireless gateways to LAN.

Should the Flas drive be formatted for NTFS or FAT?
