Can't say for sure what it is, but you might be able to find out by right-clicking the icon. A shortcut menu should open and you might see a link for either "Properties" or "About". If you have both I'd select Properties and see what it has to offer. But do NOT click on "Open" just in case it might be some kind of malware.

    Hi,

If a mouse-over or right-click doesn't reveal its identity, then post a list of your startup items here and we can have a look.

    See Method 3, Step 4:
    Startup Programs - Change

Is it perhaps some type of dictionary/language application?

    regards,

Thank you for the fast answer.

Unfortunately there is no over state on the icon and no right click also.

    Here is my start-up list.

Mmm. Is it perhaps one of your Adobe products? Or AVG? One way to tell, is to remove all the non-Microsoft items from Startup, then reboot the system turning each item on, one at a time till you find the culprit - it is time-consuming though.

Another option is to check if you can spot it using TaskManager........

This might be better. use Control > Panel All Control Panel Items > Notification Area Icons and see if you can find it in there.

    Ahhh. Nice one!

One day, if you want to keep all that "junk" off your Dell, think about this - very easy:
