Help removing virus located in winsxs folder

    I'm not home right now, but when I get back I will scan my other computer to see if the same thing happens.

    Just do a little homework and Google rootkit. Their will be lots of information for you. It will help you understand things better.

    Okay I am currently trying out some rootkit removal software. Here are the results:
    TDSSKiller: No threats found. It doesn't check the winsxs folder.
    Sophos virus removal tool: No threats found.
    GMER:

    I guess there's not much point in using any other programs to check. I'm not trying to say that I don't think it's there, just showing the results of the scan.

    Okay, I'm home now. I ran a scan using Avast of the winsxs folder and it returned with no threats detected. I am running a full system scan. I think it's possible that this computer isn't infected, despite me swapping files between the two computers. Remember, the reason I found out about the virus in the first place was due to Avast.
