    Windows7 firewall service is not available under services.msc list.


    Hi,

    I am running with windows7 64bit operating system, it was really cool till 2 days back. i am having mcafee antivirus which was also working fine. but suddenly 2 days before i was getting a message that my computer is in risk due to firewall is not activated, and this issue is also stoping me to connect with internet, i tried various method to fix this issue but at the end its zero.
    These are some hints which will help to anylise mu issue:-
    1. Base Filtering Engine is started.
    2. Firewall client agent is started
    3. windows firewall is not at all available under services.msc list

    Please help me to fix this issue.

    Welcome to SF arunkg!
    You won't like this, but Uninstall McAfee and install MSE, link below my signature. McAfee has a bad record with w7 and causing various issues.

    Also find the link there for Malware Bytes and install it, do an update and run a full scan with it and MSE.
    Sounds like you may have caught something.

    You can use another PC and save both to a flash drive.

    MCAFEE posted a faulty DAT-file last weekend. Maybe that's the cause of problem?
