Compatible firewall for Kaspersky I just updated from Kaspersky AV 2010 to Kaspersky 2013. The update said that the Comodo firewall I was using conflicted with 2013. So now I'm using the Windows 7 firewall.
Is the Windows 7 firewall adequate or can someone recommend another one?
Thanks,

I really believe honestly in truth you will be fine, just keep the antivirus up and firewall on. Kasperksy should have its own firewall settings, use those they should work best. Anyhow i truly believe you will be ok with windows firewall, and or kasperksy's. | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway Nv53U *LAPTOP* OS Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1 CPU AMD Athlon(tm) II Dual-Core M300 Motherboard Gateway SJV50TR Memory (X2) 2GB DIMM1 DDR-2 Graphics Card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series Sound Card (1) ATI HDMI Audio (2) High Definition Audio Device Monitor(s) Displays 1024 x 768 x 32 bits (4294967296 colors) @ 60 Hz Screen Resolution 1024 X 768 Mouse Logitech M305 Hard Drives (1) WDC WD3200BEVT-22ZCT0 ATA Device (320 GB) (2) TOSHIBA TransMemory USB Device (16GB USB) Internet Speed 6 mbps Other Info I Do not have the best laptop / computer, but i do not have the knowledge to build a better one, nor the money to buy a better one:( |

Welcome to Seven Forums Johntysz. I know people like Kaspersky, but it doesn't play nice with almost anything. Look at the list for 2012 (none found for 2013): List of applications incompatible with Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012
It just basically wants to be in charge. Just the Comodo firewall may well work, but anything else (Defense+, Internet security, etc.) Likely will either not play nice, or will be removed on installation of 2013. Many here use the Windows Firewall, and the Windows 7 Firewall Control Free, and seem happy with it. A while back I had Kaspersky and it did a great job protecting my computers. The problem I had with it was along with protecting my computers it wanted to rule rule my computers. I had to keep changing setting and relearning it to get any thing done. PITA. It's gone and I use MSE and the Windows 7 built in Firewall with no problems. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Home made Desktop OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
